He even published a book called \u201cThe Surgeon Dentist,\u201d where he documented his teeth-straightening methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#2. We Have NASA to Thank for Modern Braces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s another fun fact: the nickel titanium in most braces wire was originally developed for NASA! Although it was originally intended to be used on space shuttles, its flexible wires and sturdy shape are ideal for addressing misaligned teeth and bite issues. Their scientists even created the transparent material used for invisible braces, polycrystalline alumina!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
